The event is also considered integral in showcasing Ireland’s ability to host international sporting events. The event being hosted in Ireland is the apex of ten years of hard work in getting the event here by Failte Ireland.

Coupled with Conor McGregor’s recent victory at UFC 202 the event is expected to bring a mass amount of exposure to Ireland’s athletic culture which, in turn, is expected to bring about even more Ireland hosted sporting events in the near future.
